Meaning of Dudh Kunda in Nepali Language is Dudh = Milk and Kunda = Holy lake. Milky holy lake is called Dudh Kunda and this is a really holy lake of Lower Khumbu region which is also called High solu region of Nepal. There is big holy lake festival celebrated every year in July/August on full moon day. Dudh Kunda trekking is also called Holy lake Trekking in Nepal which is lies at 4500m level.This is an amazing lake that you can see white color water (like milk) and also very close views of mount Numbur from this lake. This is very popular holy lake in solukhumbu, Everest region of Nepal. According to requirements and interest, dudh kunda lake trek is possible to combine with Everest base camp trek too. Dudh kunda- holy lake trek normally begin from jiri driving by bus, private car, jeep and trail follows some of beautiful sherpa settlements, streams, bridges, monasteries, mountains and hills of high solu region. This trek is also known as “High Solu Trekking” by some trekkers since trails mostly goes up at 2000m to 4065m at Pikey hill and 4500m at Dudh Kunda Lake.Dudh kunda Lake Trekking is also known as Sherpa Villages & Monasteries trek, High solu trek, high solu holy Lake trek, lower Everest region trek, pikey hill trek or pike hill trek.Dudh kunda lake trekking also cover Pikey hill trekking which also a very holy hill in solu region and so this trekking is sometime very important trekking for trekkers. Pikey hill trekking is a very nice hill situated at 4065m for fantastic Sunrise and sun set views.
