The trek begins in Kathmandu to the north and arrives at the small town of Syabrubesi. The trekking trail of Naya Kanga peak passes through Bamboo forest, Oaks, Pines and Maple forest, following the narrow valley of Langtang. Massif Langtang range view will be a breath-taking view, and the rivers and stream along the path of soaring peak will fill you with contentment. The panoramic vista of Lanshisa Ri, Penthang Ri, and Pemthang Karpo Ri is eye-catching view. You will also enter Langtang National Park where you might encounter endangered wildlife like Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Black Bear, Red Panda, Rhesus, and Monkies.  The trek continues with ascending Naya Kanga Peak. Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You can rest for the remainder of the day or explore the vibrant streets of Kathmandu on your own.

Day 2: Sightseeing and trek preparation in Kathmandu After breakfast, you will go on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, where you will visit popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Temple (also known as Monkey Temple) and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the evening, you will meet your trekking guide and other team members for a briefing and prepare for the trek.

Day 3: Drive to Dhunche After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche, which is the starting point of the Langtang Valley Trek. The drive will take around 7-8 hours and pass through the beautiful countryside of Nepal. You will stay overnight at a tea house in Dhunche.

Day 4: Trek to Syabru Goan The trek begins today, as you head towards the first stop of the trek, Syabru Goan. The trail will take you through dense forests, across several suspension bridges, and up steep ascents. You will pass through small villages and witness the local culture and lifestyle. The trek will take around 5-6 hours to reach Syabru Goan, where you will stay overnight at a tea house.

Day 5: Trek to Lama Hotel After breakfast, you will start your trek to Lama Hotel. The trail will take you through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo, and you will cross several streams and waterfalls. You may even spot some wildlife, such as monkeys and musk deer, along the way. The trek will take around 6-7 hours to reach Lama Hotel, where you will stay overnight at a tea house.

Day 6: Trek to Langtang Village Today’s trek will take you to Langtang Village, which is the largest village in the Langtang Valley. You will pass through dense forests, cross several suspension bridges, and climb steep ascents. You will get to see stunning views of the Langtang Lirung mountain range and other peaks. The trek will take around 5-6 hours to reach Langtang Village, where you will stay overnight at a tea house.

Day 7: Trek to Kyangjin After breakfast, you will start your trek towards Kyangjin. The trail will take you through alpine vegetation and pastures, and you will pass through the yak pastures of Langtang Village. You will also cross several small streams and witness the local lifestyle and culture. The trek will take around 3-4 hours to reach Kyangjin, where you will stay overnight at a tea house.

Day 8: Rest Day Today is a rest day, where you can explore the local area and go on short hikes to nearby viewpoints. You can visit the Kyangjin Monastery, which is a famous Buddhist monastery in the region, and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 9: Trek to Nyengang Kharka

After a rest day at Kyangjin, you will start your trek towards Nyengang Kharka. You will ascend through a ridge which offers magnificent views of Langtang Lirung and Langshisa Ri. The trail takes you through yak pastures and forests of juniper and rhododendron. You will cross several streams and moraines before reaching Nyengang Kharka. This is a good place to camp for the night.

Day 10: Trek to Naya Kang High Camp

Today’s trek is quite challenging as you will be ascending to the base camp of Naya Kang. The trail takes you through rocky terrain and glaciers. You will be walking on a moraine ridge and crossing several streams before reaching the high camp. As you reach closer to the high camp, you will have a panoramic view of Langtang Lirung, Langshisa Ri, and other surrounding peaks. Once you reach the high camp, you will set up your tents and prepare for the summit push.

Day 11: Rest Day at Naya Kang High Camp

This is a rest day at the high camp to prepare for the summit push. You will have time to acclimatize and rest before the climb. Your guide will brief you on the climb and teach you some basic mountaineering skills.

Day 12: Trek to Kyangjin Gompa

Today, you will descend back to Kyangjin Gompa. The trail takes you through the same rocky terrain and glaciers. You will be retracing your steps back to Kyangjin Gompa. On the way back, you can take a detour to visit the Langtang Glacier.

Day 13: Trek to Lama Hotel

After breakfast, you will start your descent towards Lama Hotel. The trail takes you through the forests of rhododendron and oak. You will be crossing several suspension bridges over the Langtang River. You will have a chance to spot some wildlife such as musk deer, Himalayan black bear, and langur monkeys. You will camp at Lama Hotel for the night.

Day 14: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi

Today, you will be trekking back to Syabru Besi. The trail takes you through the same forests of rhododendron and oak. You will be crossing several suspension bridges over the Langtang River. On reaching Syabru Besi, you can relax and enjoy a hot shower after the long trek.

Day 15: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes around 7-8 hours. On reaching Kathmandu, you can take a rest and freshen up. In the evening, you can stroll around Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu, and do some souvenir shopping.

Day 16: Final Departure

Before You Go

  1. Get in shape: Climbing a peak requires a lot of physical strength and endurance. Make sure you are in good physical shape before attempting to climb Naya Kanga Peak. Start training at least several months in advance, focusing on strength training, cardiovascular exercises, and hiking with a backpack.
  2. Acclimatize properly: Altitude sickness can be a serious problem when climbing a high peak like Naya Kanga. Make sure to acclimatize properly by spending a few days at lower altitudes before attempting to climb the peak. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and caffeine, and listen to your body.
  3. Pack appropriately: Make sure to pack all the necessary gear for your climb, including warm clothing, a sleeping bag, a tent, a stove, food, and water. Bring a good quality map and compass, and make sure you know how to use them.
  4. Hire a guide: Unless you are an experienced mountaineer, it’s recommended to hire a guide for your climb. A guide can provide valuable support and expertise, and can help ensure your safety on the mountain.
  5. Check the weather: The weather can be unpredictable in the mountains, so make sure to check the forecast before heading out. Avoid climbing during bad weather, and be prepared for sudden changes in conditions.
