The trek starts in Kathmandu with sightseeing and trek preparation. Sightseeing UNESCO world heritage sites will be worthy. Trek to one of the world’s few peak (Yala Peak) that can be ascended without prior experience is considered to be moderate. This trek/climbing also reflects the allurement of Tibet as it borders Tibet.  The serenity of Yala Peak along with the vista of icy glaciers will captivate you. The high altitude lakes including Gosaikunda, Bhairavkunda, Pravatikunda, and Dhudkhunda will add gems to the trip to Yala Peak. The ancient villages in the region offer you with their unique lifestyle and culture. Tamang community is the major dominant of this area. Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a representative of the trekking agency who will transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city and relax.

Day 2: Sightseeing and trek preparation in Kathmandu After breakfast, you will go on a sightseeing tour of some of the major attractions in Kathmandu, such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. In the afternoon, you will meet with your trekking guide and go through a briefing about the trek and necessary equipment.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi You will take a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi, which is the starting point of the trek. The drive will take approximately 7-8 hours and you will see stunning views of the Himalayas, terraced fields, and traditional villages along the way.

Day 4: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel Today, you will start your trek and hike from Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel, which will take around 6 hours. You will follow the Langtang Khola river and pass through dense forests of oak, maple, and rhododendron.

Day 5: Lama Hotel to Langtang You will continue your trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village, which will take around 6-7 hours. The trail will take you through beautiful landscapes and you will see stunning views of the Himalayas, including Langtang Lirung.

Day 6: Langtang to Kyanjin Gompa Today, you will trek from Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa, which will take around 3-4 hours. Kyanjin Gompa is a small village with a famous monastery and a cheese factory.

Day 7: Excursion to Tserko Ri Today is an acclimatization day and you will hike to Tserko Ri, which is a viewpoint located at an altitude of 4,984 meters. The hike will take around 7-8 hours and you will see spectacular views of the Himalayas.

Day 8: Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Peak Base Camp You will trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Yala Peak Base Camp, which will take around 6-7 hours. The trail will take you through beautiful landscapes and you will see stunning views of the Himalayas.

Day 9: Base Camp to High Camp On this day, you will trek from Yala Peak Base Camp to High Camp, which will take approximately 4-5 hours. The trail is steep and involves walking on a glacier. You will set up your camp at High Camp, which is situated at an altitude of 5,000 meters. From here, you will have a stunning view of the Langtang Lirung, Langshisha Ri, and other mountains in the region.

Day 10: High Camp to Yala Height Today is the day you will summit Yala Peak. You will start early in the morning, at around 2-3 am, to avoid the strong winds that typically occur later in the day. The climb to the summit will take around 6-7 hours, and you will reach an altitude of 5,520 meters. From the summit, you will have an incredible panoramic view of the Langtang range and other surrounding mountains. After spending some time at the summit, you will descend back to High Camp.

Day 11: Base Camp to Ghore Tabela After successfully summiting Yala Peak, you will trek back down to Base Camp and continue on to Ghore Tabela. The trail descends steeply and passes through a dense forest of rhododendron and pine trees. You will have great views of the mountains and the Langtang Valley on this trek, and you may even spot some local wildlife.

Day 12: Ghore Tabela to Thulo Syabru Today’s trek will take you to Thulo Syabru, a beautiful village that is home to Tamang people. The trail is relatively easy, passing through forests and small villages. You will have a chance to interact with the locals and learn about their culture and way of life. Thulo Syabru is situated at an altitude of 2,210 meters, and you will have stunning views of the Ganesh Himal and other peaks in the region.

Day 13: Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa On this day, you will trek from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa, also known as Chandan Bari. The trail climbs steeply through forests of oak, rhododendron, and bamboo, and you will have great views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himal ranges. Sing Gompa is home to a famous cheese factory, and you will have a chance to taste some delicious locally-made cheese.

Day 14: Sing Gompa to Dhunche Today’s trek will take you from Sing Gompa to Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa District. The trail is relatively easy and mostly downhill, passing through small villages and forests. Dhunche is situated at an altitude of 1,950 meters, and you will have great views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 15: Dhunche to Kathmandu On the final day of the trek, you will drive back to Kathmandu, which will take approximately 7-8 hours. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and small villages on the way back, and you will have a chance to take in the beauty of the region one last time.

Day 16: Final Departure This day marks the end of your Yala Peak climbing adventure. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
