Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Trek Preparation Today, you will spend the day sightseeing in Kathmandu. You will visit some of the famous cultural and historical landmarks of the city, including the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Swayambhunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, you will return to your hotel to prepare for the trek. You will have a final briefing with your guide and make any last-minute preparations.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola After breakfast, you will begin your journey towards the trailhead at Sotikhola. You will drive for approximately 8-9 hours through scenic mountain roads and picturesque countryside. The road can be bumpy and dusty, but the views of the Himalayas and local villages along the way will make it all worth it.
Day 4: Sotikhola to Maccha Khola Your first day of trekking will take you through lush forests, steep valleys, and several suspension bridges. You will pass through small villages and encounter local people going about their daily lives. The trail will gradually climb up to your destination at Maccha Khola, where you will spend the night.
Day 5: Maccha Khola to Jagat Today’s trek will take you through beautiful countryside dotted with small villages, terraced fields, and riverside landscapes. Day 11: Rest day in Samdo Today is a rest day in Samdo, which will allow you to acclimatize to the high altitude and prepare for the challenging trek ahead. Day 12: Samdo to Dharamsala Today’s trek will take you through some rugged terrain and high altitude pastures as you make your way towards Dharamsala.
