Tamang Heritage Trek is a unique and moderate trek to the North of Kathmandu Valley.  It is off-beaten-track to the wonderful empire of Tamang Community, between Langtang range and Ganesh Himal. This trek has a prime path of exploring the tradition and culture of Tamang community. This trek was initiated by “Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program.” Tamang Heritage Trek is easily accessible and new trekking route of Nepal. This trek will let you closely glance and experience the lifestyle of Tamang people, and get mesmerized by it. The trek begins shortly after your arrival in Kathmandu. The very first day, we will be visiting and sightseeing UNESCO world heritage sites and prepares for the trek. We initiate the trek with a drive to Syabrubesi from Kathmandu. The drive will be scenic offering you wonderful vista of the lush forest into the wood, varying landscape and terrace, grazing settlement, waterfalls, rivers and many more. We will then trek to Gatlang. The trek will be 5 hours of a trek through rugged mountainous trails and offers you a lovely panoramic view of Himalayas nearby.The memorable part of this trek will be an expedition of the historical place at Rasuwagadhi. OnAscending, we will reach Tatopani and head toward Thuman and Briddim, followed by Lama Hotel. When exhausted due to continuous trekking, the Natural Hot spring at Tatopani will neutralize tiredness and add refreshment to you.  And we terminate our trek by returning back to Kathmandu.

This trek will be a lifetime experience. The closelook at the culture of Tamang ethnicity will be a fantastic experience to cherish whole life.

Best Season:

The best time to go for the Tamang Heritage Trek is during the autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) seasons. During these seasons, the weather is dry, the skies are clear, and the temperature is mild, which makes it ideal for trekking.

When trekking in Nepal, it is important to follow certain rules to ensure your safety and protect the environment. Here are some of the rules you should follow during the Tamang Heritage Trek:

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. You can spend the rest of the day resting and exploring the city.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu On this day, you will go on a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, and Boudhanath.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi After breakfast, you will drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, a small village in the Langtang region. The drive will take around 7-8 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes, including terraced fields and forests.

Day 4: Syabrubesi to Gatlang After breakfast, you will start your trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang, a beautiful Tamang village located on a hill. The trek will take around 6 hours and will take you through forests and picturesque Tamang settlements.

Day 5: Gatlang to Tatopani On this day, you will trek from Gatlang to Tatopani, which means ‘hot water’ in Nepali. You can relax in the hot springs and enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 6: Tatopani to Thuman Today’s trek will take you from Tatopani to Thuman, another beautiful Tamang village located on a hill. The trek will take around 6 hours and will take you through dense forests and charming Tamang settlements.

Day 7: Thuman to Briddim On this day, you will trek from Thuman to Briddim, a small and charming village located on the lap of the Langtang Himal. The trek will take around 6 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes and Tamang settlements.

Day 8: Briddim to Lama Hotel After breakfast, you will start your trek from Briddim to Lama Hotel. The trek will take around 6 hours and will take you through forests and streams.

Day 9: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village Today’s trek will take you from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village, a picturesque village located at the foot of the Langtang Lirung mountain. The trek will take around 6 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes and forests.

Day 10: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa After breakfast, you will trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa, a beautiful Buddhist monastery located at an altitude of 3,870 meters. The trek will take around 4-5 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes, including forests and streams.

Day 11: Kyanjin Gompa This day is dedicated to exploring Kyanjin Gompa and its surroundings. You can hike to the top of Tserko Ri, a peak that offers stunning views of the Langtang range. You can also visit the local cheese factory and taste the delicious cheese made from yak milk.

Day 12: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel After breakfast, you will start your trek back from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trek will take around 6-7 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes and forests.

Day 13: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi On this day, you will trek back from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi. The trek will take around 5-6 hours and will take you through beautiful landscapes and Tamang settlements

Day 14: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu from Syabrubesi. The drive will take around 7-8 hours, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in.

Day 15: Departure from Kathmandu On this day, your Tamang Heritage Trek comes to an end. You can spend the day exploring the city or do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
